The engine designed by S. P. Isotov and first used in 1961 was made for the Mil Mi-2 helicopter. More than 11,000 of theseengines were produced, and it was known for its rather high fuel consumption. Several improved versions were also manufactured. 36 Mi-2 helicopters equipped with GTD-350 engines were brought into service by the Hungarian People’s Army from 1982.
