The main goal in producing the Fejes panel engine was to replace all cast parts with a welded version. The first machines and vehicles based on this technology were manufactured around 1924. The inventor offered the panel engine to the Ministry of Defence for use in aircraft. As the engine proved to be too expensive and unreliable, it never made it into production [for that purpose].
