The Soviet H-29 missile was developed primarily to attack ground targets such as bunkers and fortifications. The Sukhoi Su-22M3 reconnaissance and fighter aircraft of the Hungarian Air Force were equipped with the “L” version of this missile which had a semi-active laser homing system. These missiles were deployed in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and Hungary acquired 36 of these weapons. The Su-22M3 aircraft was introduced in 1984 at Taszár.
