The SH-13 is a direct drive air-cooled radial engine with an aluminium crankcase. It was introduced to Hungary in the early 1930s as the power source of 3 Junkers A-50 aircraft. The aircraft, equipped with floats, entered service in 1931 at the Siófok site of the Balaton Hydroplane School, operated by the secret air force.
